Tests Subjects and Pattern of PAF Medical Jobs

Pakistan Air Force offers different jobs in Medical Branch as a Medical Specialist, General Duty Medical Officer and Dental Surgeon through Special Purpose Short Service Commission (SPSSC) every year.

In PAF Medical Jobs as a Medical Specialist, males and female can apply having age limit 29-48 years with MBBS degree who have been awarded the rank of Squadron Leader (Equal to Major in Pak Army) at the time of passing out parade.

In PAF Medical Jobs as a General Duty Medical Officer (GDMO), only males can apply with age 24 – 28 years having MBBS degree who have been awarded the rank of Flight Lieutenant (Equal to Captain in Pak Army) at the time of passing out parade.

In Medical jobs of PAF, as a Dental Surgeon, only males can apply who have their age between 23 – 28 years of age with BDS degree. These officers have been awarded with the rank of Flight Lieutenant (Which is equal to Captain in Army) at the time of passing out.

PAF Medical Test Requirement in Medical Jobs

There are two types of tests being taken from the candidates of Medical at Selection Centers which are given below;

  1. Intelligence Tests (100 MCQs in 35 Min & Pass Marks are 60%)
  2. Academic Test (75 MCQs in 25 Min & Passing Marks are 60%)
    • Initial management of all medical and surgical emergencies
    • Diagnosis, management and control of the communicable diseases; Poliomyelitis, Diphtheria, Tetanus, Measles, Tuberculosis, Hepatitis, Mumps, Rubella, Salmonella infections, AIDS and other Sexually Transmitted Diseases
    • Cough, Upper and Lower Respiratory Tract Infection. Shortness of breath including Asthma
    • Fever, Pain, General and of Specific Organ Systems
    • Hemorrhage and Bleeding from different Orifices
    • Common behavioral and Socio-cultural problems
    • Palpitation, Anemia, Hypertension, Coronary Heat disease
    • Diabetes Mellitus
    • Tremors and Abnormalities of Gait
    • Nutrition, Weight Loss, Fatigue, Malnutrition and Obesity
    • Loss of Hearing and Vision. Red Eye
    • Insect and Animal bites, Rabies, Tetanus
    • Abscess and Local Inflammation, Varicose Veins
    • Pregnancy, Antenatal Care, Family Planning, Infertility
    • Pediatric Assessment. Problems of the Newborn Infants
    • Acute Toothache
    • Parasitic Infections
    • Common Dermatological Conditions
    • Addictions, Depression and Sleep disorders

Candidates who have done MBBS degree and want to join PAF then they can apply through Special Purpose Short Service Commission (SPSSC) every year. Those candidates who have BDS degree can also apply for Dental Surgeon.

Girls can join Pakistan Air Force just after Matric who have completed with Bio subject by securing 60% marks in aggregate. After graduation like MBBS degree, they can apply in medical branch through SPSSC where they get the rank of Squadron Leader.

In Air Force, there is an age limit and definitely there is also a weight limit. At the time of selection, one can be given some time to reduce the weight otherwise such candidates may be declared unfit in pre-medical test.

Role of Chief of Air Staff is to look all the matters of Air Force and also strengthen the existing force with optimum utilization of resources. Moreover, he tries to bring new equipments and equip the Air Force with new technology.

Candidates can join PAF as a GD Pilot just after FSc. Females can also apply as General Duty Pilot though permanent commission in PAF. Vacancies of GD Pilot for females come once in a year, usually in the month of August every year.
